HRLSS-GeckoTea

Hi watchers! Gawsh, I took a look at my DA page and realised that my journal section was incredibley out dated!
I've recently taken part in this just gone November's  NaNoWriMo in which I was writing the second and ending part to my novel, Gecko Tea and so this is why I havn't updated much on the artwork front for a month! ;A; I didn't manage too win NaNo this year which is gutting, but the good news is that I've almost completed the novel over all! I've been house sitting for my parents for the last couple of days so it's given me the concentration boost that I needed! On the art front, I've only been getting round to finishing sketches and mini-drawings that you can view over on my Facebook page, but I'm hoping to get some fully-crazy-detailed pieces of work completed soon!

Hi everyone! I'm back!

So, after searching through a number of internet providers we finally landed on Sky, they had the best deal for us and so far they've been a good company! this means I can now catch up on browsing, commenting/favoriting work in my watch list and replying to all messages! YAY! o3o And also show my group some love!

I'm still working on pages of my comic, chopping and changing parts of the Gecko Tea story as i go, i have 41 pages sketched (some completed!) and so far it seems to be going OK! The full first volume will probably be over 50 pages that are made up of two chapters of the novel so it'll be bigger than I'd imagined! Unfortunately, I don't think it will be done for MCM in October this year; I want this comic to look its best when it is finally finished, so I'm dedicating as much time as it needs to polish it up some before doing anything with it. I'll keep you updated! And may even upload some sneak pre-view pages~!

Next! I'll also be taking part in the DA Mythical Creature's T-shirt Design contest! At first, i was going to go with a dragon, then i looked through the contest entries so far and realised quite a few people had already done dragons of all kinds XD; so i went with the next idea I had and luckily i think its now my favorite, UNICORNS! >8D I've always loved the tale of how Unicorns are born from the waves in the sea and I have done a picture similar to that tale before and really enjoyed drawing that one too! Hopefully, people here on DA will enjoy my design!

Other than the above, I've been doodling away with possible prints and random ideas~


I'll keep working hard! <3


P.S! ~ Oh yeah! Some time next month I'll be getting some subscription for my account! I've been putting it off for to long and I'd like the opportunity to play around with some of the features that only having a subscription will allow~ Like, for example, changing my name! O_O I've been Tsuname from the very beginning, but I would like something more recognisable, so I'll be changing it to 'Gecko Tea - HRLSS' so that it matches my Facebook art page! HRLSS is my initials by the way, its what I sign my traditional pictures with and once i figure out how to create a brush in Photoshop I'll be using a drawn 'HRLSS' to sign my digital pieces with as well!

Hello Everyone! Yep, i am still around and got back from Expo!!

Sorry for my lack of action recently, pretty much as soon as i return from Expo our internet went down ( >3< BT are trying to rip us off!) and now we will be without any main internet for quite some time. I promise to check in here as much as i can though, i shall do my best to seek internet usage time! *3* <3

Expo was good and it was awesome being able to meet who came to see our table and all of the great fellow artists as well I brought goodies (which didn't do my poor broken bag strap and aching back any favours) that consist of prints, comics and a few other things. This Expo was really amazing and it was exciting from start to finish so expect to see me back at MCM in October!! Which, or course, i will be bringing a long some new prints and hopefully, the very first volume of my comic Gecko Tea which i am working on each and every day! I have up to 20 pages so far and keep coming up with new page layouts that I'm drawing and re-drawing to fit and flow well with each scene! Character design continuity is also i hard thing to keep on track, so I'll be watching my style like a hawk with this comic as well! (Also, even though i haven't got much internet access any more, i will be making sure to draw twice as much every single day! ) I am also going to be attempting to put together a little Fantasy Creature themed artbook too, my strengths as an artist sway a lot more to scenery and creature concepts than to people anatomy and design so it's going to be nice for me to create new concepts and drawings in between my comic that are entirely animal/scenery based! Though this may-or-may not be ready/affordable to print as-well-as my comic in October but I'll work hard!
